Challenge

A smart, app-enabled cooking appliance with a patented double-wall thermal insulated design, Zega’s SmartControl technology heats food in minutes and continues to cook safely for hours off the stove without the need for gas or electricity.

ZEGA had previously soft-launched their cookware with a press release and Indigogo campaign in April 2020, to limited media outcomes. With a wholesale crowd funding campaign launching in April 2021 on crowd-funding platform VentureCrowd, the Zega team wanted to use a proactive PR campaign to attract investors. support conversations to secure distributors across various global markets and to drive consumer sales on Zega’s Australian online store

Strategy

Kicker positioned ZEGA as an ingenious technology start-up, with executive profiles in top tier publications and outreach in key consumer media, TV, review sites and social media.

Outcome

Kicker helped Zega achieve outsized results for a startup brand in mainstream media, with product reviews or features carried by major Australian news outlets including:

News.com.au, The Australian, The Australian Financial Review, Taste (Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Canberra Times), Good Weekend (Sydney Morning Herald / the Age), Today Extra, Studio Ten and 2GB.

Alongside these mainstream media clips, Zega was also placed into many consumer and technology publications, as well as trade titles such as Appliance Retailer and Smart Company.
